Biography
Fernando Torres was a Brazilian actor, director and producer of theatre, film and television. Born in Guaçuí, Espírito Santo, he died in Rio de Janeiro in 2008. His career in Brazilian stage, screen and television spanned more than five decades.
He founded the Teatro dos Sete in 1959. Torres was best known to international audiences for his supporting role as Americo in the 1985 film Kiss of the Spider Woman. He was married to actress Fernanda Montenegro and they had two children: filmmaker Cláudio Torres and actress Fernanda Torres.
