Biography

Flavio Parenti is an Italian actor, director and producer. Born in Paris in 1979 to a French mother and Italian father, he grew up between France and Italy. He studied at the Centre International de Valbonne from 1993 to 1999 before graduating from the acting school of the Teatro Stabile di Genova in 2002.

Parenti began in theatre, debuting in 2002 in Bertolt Brecht’s Mother Courage and Her Children at the Teatro Stabile di Genova, where he also worked as an assistant director and later directed his own productions until 2005. He made his screen debut in 2008 in Silvio Muccino’s Tell Me About Love. His film roles include Edoardo Recchi Junior in Luca Guadagnino’s I Am Love (2009), Michelangelo in Woody Allen’s To Rome with Love (2012), and appearances in Peter Greenaway’s Goltzius & the Pelican Company (2012) and the Taviani brothers’ Wondrous Boccaccio (2015). On television he has appeared in series including Un medico in famiglia and Leonardo (2021), for which he received the PADA award.
