Biography
Flip Kobler is an American writer and former actor. Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, he began his career performing before turning to writing. With his wife and frequent collaborator Cindy Marcus, he sold his first screenplay to Paramount Studios in 1988.
Kobler and Marcus spent five years on staff at Disney, contributing to several direct-to-video animated sequels including Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas (1997), The Lion King II: Simba's Pride (1998), Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World (1998) and The Hunchback of Notre Dame II (2002). They also wrote the live-action family film Jack and the Beanstalk (2009). Kobler co-wrote the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode 'Profit and Loss' (1994).
The pair have written more than 50 published plays and musicals performed worldwide. Kobler has received Annie Award and DVD Premiere Award nominations for his animation work. He has also written and appeared in horror films such as The Mean One (2022).
