Biography
Florence Ryerson was an American screenwriter and playwright. Born Florence Willard, she published more than 30 short stories between 1915 and 1927 before joining Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer in 1926 to work on film scripts.
She co-wrote the screenplay for The Wizard of Oz (1939) with Noel Langley and Edgar Allan Woolf. With her second husband, Colin Clements, she wrote the novels This Awful Age (1930) and Mild Oats (1933), and several Broadway plays in the 1940s, including June Mad and Harriet.
