Biography
Floria Sigismondi is an Italian-Canadian film director, screenwriter, music video director, artist and photographer. Born in Pescara, Italy, her family moved to Hamilton, Ontario, Canada when she was two. She studied painting and illustration at the Ontario College of Art, later focusing on photography.
She began her career as a fashion photographer and was approached by The Revolver Film Co. to direct music videos for Canadian bands. Sigismondi wrote and directed the feature The Runaways (2010). She has also directed the feature The Turning (2020) and episodes of the series The Handmaid's Tale (2017), American Gods (2017), Marvel's Daredevil (2016) and Hemlock Grove (2013).
