Biography
Foltin is a Macedonian band formed in 1995. The group takes its name from Karel Čapek's novel Life and Work of the Composer Foltýn. Its members blend indie, alternative, world music, funk, electroacoustic and jazz styles, and have performed in a theatrical, cabaret-influenced manner since the late 1990s.
Foltin has composed for theatre and film since 1998–1999. Its film scores include This Is Not an American Movie (2010), The Balkan Is Not Dead (2012), Lake of Apples (2016), Secret Ingredient (2017), Avec L'amour (2017) and the documentary Honeyland (2019), directed by Ljubomir Stefanov and Tamara Kotevska. The Honeyland soundtrack was later released as a suite.
