Biography

Frances Tempest is a British costume designer born in 1948. She has designed for film, television and theatre, including productions at the National Theatre and the English National Opera.

Her credits include the films Calendar Girls (2003), Greenfingers (2001) and Under the Skin (1997), and the television productions A Rather English Marriage (1998), A Respectable Trade (1998) and Breaking the Code (1996). She also worked on series such as Robin Hood (2006–2007) and Agatha Christie's Marple.

Tempest has received four Emmy nominations and three BAFTA nominations, and won a BAFTA award for A Respectable Trade.
