Biography

Francis Lister (1899–1951) was a British stage and film actor. Born in London, he appeared in West End productions from the 1920s and made his screen debut in the silent era.

He is known for supporting roles in films including Mutiny on the Bounty (1935) as Captain Nelson, Henry V (1944) as the Duke of Orleans, and The Wicked Lady (1945) as Lord Kingsclere. His other credits include Cardinal Richelieu (1935), Christopher Columbus (1949) and Home to Danger (1951).

Lister was married to actresses Nora Swinburne (1924–1932) and Margot Grahame (1934–1936).
