Biography
Franco Ferrini is an Italian screenwriter born on 5 January 1944 in La Spezia. He began his career as a film critic before moving into screenwriting in the mid-1970s.
Ferrini received a co-screenplay credit on Sergio Leone’s Once Upon a Time in America (1984). He has collaborated extensively with Dario Argento on horror and thriller films, including Phenomena (1985), Demons (1985), Opera (1987), The Stendhal Syndrome (1996) and Dark Glasses (2022). Other credits include Soap and Water (1983) and Two Evil Eyes (1990).
In 1987 Ferrini directed the thriller Sweets from a Stranger (Caramelle da uno sconosciuto). He has also written for directors including Carlo Verdone, Alberto Lattuada and Lamberto Bava.
