Biography
Françoise Dorléac was a French actress. Born in Paris on 21 March 1942, she was the daughter of actors Maurice Dorléac and Renée Simonot, and the elder sister of Catherine Deneuve. She trained at the Conservatoire d'Art Dramatique and made her film debut in The Wolves in the Sheepfold (1960). She also worked as a model for Christian Dior.
Dorléac appeared in The Door Slams (1960) and several other early films before gaining wider notice. Her notable roles include Agnès Villermosa in That Man from Rio (1964), Nicole in The Soft Skin (1964), Teresa in Cul-de-sac (1966), and Solange Garnier in The Young Girls of Rochefort (1967), in which she starred opposite her sister. She also featured in international productions such as Genghis Khan (1965) and Billion Dollar Brain (1967).
Dorléac died on 26 June 1967 in a car accident near Villeneuve-Loubet, France, aged 25.
