Biography
Frank Clarke (31 December 1915 – September 2002) was a British film editor. Born in London, he began working in the film industry in the 1930s as an assistant editor and edited wartime documentaries including Tunisian Victory (1944) and The True Glory (1945).
He later joined MGM-British at Elstree Studios as a supervising editor, a role he held for nearly twenty years. His credits from this period include Ivanhoe (1952), Mogambo (1953), Knights of the Round Table (1953), Tom Thumb (1958), The V.I.P.s (1963), The Yellow Rolls-Royce (1964) and Blow-Up (1966, uncredited). He also edited earlier features such as Spring in Park Lane (1948).
Clarke taught at the London Film School after the closure of the Borehamwood studio.
