Biography
Frank Corsaro was an American actor and stage director. He appeared as Hector Jonas in the 1968 film Rachel, Rachel, directed by Paul Newman.
Corsaro was primarily known as a director of theatre and opera. He directed productions for the New York City Opera from 1958, including world premieres of Carlisle Floyd operas, and made his Metropolitan Opera debut in 1984 with Handel's Rinaldo. He became head of the Actors Studio in 1988.
Born in New York City on 22 December 1924, Corsaro trained at the Yale School of Drama and joined the Actors Studio in 1950. He died on 11 November 2017 in Suwanee, Georgia.
