Biography
Frank Deasy (19 May 1959 – 17 September 2009) was an Irish screenwriter. Born in Dublin, he initially worked as a child carer with Ireland's Eastern Health Board before moving into film and television writing.
His credits include the feature films The Courier (1988), Captives (1994) and Prozac Nation (2001), and television work such as The Grass Arena (1991), Looking After Jo Jo (1998), The Rats (2002), Real Men (2003), England Expects (2004), Prime Suspect: The Final Act (2006) and the BBC/HBO series The Passion (2008). He also wrote the RTÉ/ITV series Father & Son (2009).
Deasy won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Miniseries, Movie or Dramatic Special for Prime Suspect: The Final Act. He lived in Glasgow from the late 1990s and was married to Marie Connolly.
