Biography
Frans Bak is a Danish composer, conductor, saxophonist and pianist. Born in Copenhagen in 1958, he graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Music and began his career as a jazz performer before moving into composition for film, television and advertising.
He composed the score for the Danish series Forbrydelsen (2007–2012) and its American adaptation The Killing (2011–2014). Other television credits include Lilyhammer (2012), Doctor Foster (2015) and Those Who Kill (2011). His film work encompasses Men & Chicken (2015), 55 Steps (2018) and the shorts Ernst & The Light (1996), Sweethearts? (1998) and Helmer & Son (2006), the last three of which received Academy Award nominations.
