Biography
Fred Baron is an American film producer and studio executive. He serves as executive vice president of feature production at 20th Century Fox.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1976 and began his career in the film industry with entry-level roles, including production assistant on Nighthawks (1981). Baron worked as co-producer on the television series Tales from the Crypt (1989–1990) before joining 20th Century Fox, where he oversaw projects including Kingdom of Heaven (2005) as production executive.
He produced Moulin Rouge! (2001) alongside Baz Luhrmann and Martin Brown. The film earned him a Darryl F. Zanuck Producer of the Year Award from the Producers Guild of America and an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture. Baron has also contributed to the PGA Green Initiative for sustainable filmmaking.
