Biography
Fred Dryer is an American actor and former professional American football player. Born on 6 July 1946 in Hawthorne, California, he played as a defensive end in the NFL for the New York Giants and Los Angeles Rams from 1969 to 1981.
After retiring from football, Dryer began an acting career. He studied with acting coach Nina Foch and appeared in guest roles including Lt. John LeGarre in CHiPs (1977) and Dave Richards in four episodes of Cheers (1982–1987). He is best known for starring as Detective Sgt. Rick Hunter in the NBC series Hunter (1984–1991), in which he also served as executive producer and director on some episodes. Other credits include Justice League (2001) as the voice of Sgt. Rock, Bumblebee (2018) and appearances in NCIS and Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D..
