Biography
Freddie Fields (born Fred Feldman) was an American theatrical agent and film producer. Born on 12 July 1923 in Ferndale, New York, he began his career in talent agencies after serving in the Coast Guard, working at MCA before co-founding Creative Management Associates (CMA) with David Begelman in 1960. He later headed production at MGM and United Artists and was a partner in the First Artists production company.
As a producer, Fields worked on films including Lipstick (1976), Looking for Mr. Goodbar (1977), American Gigolo (1980), Escape to Victory (1981), Crimes of the Heart (1986) and Glory (1989), his final film as producer. He also served as executive producer on titles such as Poltergeist II: The Other Side (1986) and Millennium (1989). Fields died on 11 December 2007 in Beverly Hills, California.
