Biography
Fritz Alberti, also credited as Friedrich Wilhelm Alberti, was a German actor. Born in Hanau, he initially studied construction at the Technical University of Berlin and worked in the building industry before deciding to pursue acting in 1906. He appeared on stage in Kassel and at the National Theatre in Mannheim, and moved to Berlin in 1922.
Alberti became a frequent supporting actor in silent films from the early 1920s. He is credited in Die Nibelungen: Siegfried (1924) and Die Nibelungen: Kriemhild's Revenge (1924) as Dietrich von Bern, and played the uncredited role of the Creative Human who convinces Babel in Metropolis (1927). He continued stage work, including at the Theater am Kurfürstendamm.
Alberti joined the NSDAP in 1933 and held roles in its film organisations. After the war he worked as a voice actor and acting teacher, and did not return to the stage.
