Biography
Galatea Ranzi is an Italian actress working in film, stage and television. She trained at the Accademia Nazionale di Arte Drammatica Silvio D'Amico in Rome, graduating in 1988, and made her stage debut the previous year in Luca Ronconi's production of Amor nello specchio. She has appeared in numerous stage works directed by Ronconi and others.
Ranzi made her film debut in 1993 as Elisabette/Elisa in Paolo and Vittorio Taviani's Fiorile, for which she received a Nastro d'Argento nomination for best actress. She is known for roles including Livia in Caterina in the Big City (2003), Raffaella in Three Steps Over Heaven (2004) and I Want You (2007), Stella Honer in The Girl in the Fog (2017), and Elsa in the series Baby (2018). In The Great Beauty (2013) she played Stefania, earning a David di Donatello nomination for best supporting actress; she received a further nomination in the same category for The Life That I Want (2005).
