Biography
Gareth Roberts is a British television screenwriter, novelist and columnist. Born in 1968, he studied drama at King Alfred's College and Liverpool Polytechnic. He began his career writing novels for Virgin Publishing's Doctor Who ranges in the 1990s and later contributed to soap operas including Emmerdale.
Roberts is best known for his work on Doctor Who (2005), for which he wrote the episodes 'The Shakespeare Code' (2007), 'The Unicorn and the Wasp' (2008), 'The Lodger' (2010) and 'Closing Time' (2011), and co-wrote 'The Caretaker' (2014). He also wrote extensively for the spin-off The Sarah Jane Adventures (2007) and contributed episodes to The Librarians (2014). In addition to television, he has written numerous Doctor Who novels and short stories.
