Biography
Garth Maxwell is a New Zealand film and television director. He began working in the film industry on the 1984 feature Other Halves and made Super 8 films while studying English Literature at the University of Auckland. His short film Tandem (1987) won a GOFTA award for best short film.
Maxwell directed the feature Jack Be Nimble (1993), which won best screenplay at Portugal’s Fantasporto film festival. He directed episodes of the television series Xena: Warrior Princess (1995) and Hercules: The Legendary Journeys (1995), as well as nine episodes of Legend of the Seeker (2008). His other television credits include Crownies (2011) and Rescue: Special Ops (2009–2010).
