Biography
Gary Lionelli is a composer whose work centres on documentary films and television series. He has scored projects including O.J.: Made in America (2016), directed by Ezra Edelman, for which he received a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Music Composition for a Limited Series, Movie, or Special. Other credits include Last Days in Vietnam (2014), Luck (2012) and episodes of American Experience.
Lionelli began his career playing in rock bands before moving to Los Angeles, where he trained in film scoring through the UCLA Extension programme and BMI and ASCAP workshops. He frequently records with live orchestras and performs on a wide range of acoustic instruments. He is a three-time Emmy winner and has collaborated repeatedly with directors such as Edelman and Rory Kennedy.
