Biography
Gary 'Mani' Mounfield (1962–2025) was an English bassist and occasional actor. He joined the Stone Roses in 1987 and played on both of the band's studio albums. After the group disbanded in 1996 he became the bassist for Primal Scream, appearing on five consecutive albums from Vanishing Point (1997) to Beautiful Future (2008).
Mounfield left Primal Scream in 2011 to rejoin the Stone Roses for their reunion. He also appeared in acting roles, including as Mani in the television series Brassic (2019) and as a sound engineer in the film 24 Hour Party People (2002). He was born in Crumpsall, Manchester.
