Biography
Gavin-Keith Umeh, also credited as G.K. Umeh or GK Umeh, is an American actor. Born and raised on the south side of Chicago, he first became interested in acting after seeing a production of A Raisin in the Sun at the Goodman Theatre. He attended Dartmouth College, where he played American football and studied film history, before leaving to pursue other interests including underground hip hop performance in Chicago and later fronting bands in New York.
Umeh studied drama at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts while completing a BA in history. He gained early experience in student films and off-off-Broadway productions, one of which led to a role on the soap opera All My Children. His breakthrough came in 2011 playing Javier 'el Diablo' Morales in the FX series Lights Out. He has since appeared in films including Run All Night (2015), Paranoia (2013) and One for the Money (2012), and in television series such as Gossip Girl, White Collar, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Poker Face (2023), in which he played Eskie.
