Biography
Gaylen Ross is an American actress, director, writer and producer. Born Gail Sue Rosenblum on 15 August 1950 in Indianapolis, Indiana, she studied at Monterey Peninsula College and The New School. She worked as managing editor of the poetry journal Antaeus from 1975 to 1977 before entering film.
Ross is known for her brief acting career, playing Francine "Fran" Parker in George A. Romero's Dawn of the Dead (1978), Betsy in Madman (1981) and Becky Vickers in Creepshow (1982). She later directed documentaries including Dealers Among Dealers (1995) and Killing Kasztner (2008), the latter about the Hungarian Jewish rescuer Rezso Kasztner. She holds American and Israeli citizenship.
