Biography

Geeta Vasant Patel (born 22 December 1975) is an American film and television director, screenwriter and producer. She was born in Evanston, Illinois, and began her career in the early 2000s as an assistant writer on feature films including The Fast and the Furious (2001), Blue Crush (2002), The Rundown (2003) and Mindhunters (2004).

Patel made her directorial debut with the 2008 documentary Project Kashmir, which she also wrote and produced. In 2014 she co-directed, wrote, produced, edited and shot the documentary Meet the Patels with her brother Ravi Patel. She has since directed episodes of numerous television series, including House of the Dragon (2022–24), Ahsoka (2023), The Great (2020), Atypical (2017), Dead to Me (2019), Superstore (2015) and Lanterns (2026).
