Biography
Gene Barry, born Eugene Klass, was an American actor and singer. He began his career on the Broadway stage in the 1940s before signing a film contract with Paramount in the early 1950s.
Barry played Dr. Clayton Forrester in The War of the Worlds (1953) and appeared as Grandfather in the 2005 remake. He starred as the title character in the television series Bat Masterson (1958–1961) and Burke's Law (1963–1966), winning a Golden Globe Award for the latter. He also had recurring and guest roles in series including Our Miss Brooks, The Name of the Game, Murder, She Wrote and The Twilight Zone. His final screen appearance was the 2005 film cameo.
