Biography
Gene Castle is an American actor and choreographer. He began his career on Broadway as a performer and lead dancer in the original productions of several musicals, including Gypsy (1959), Flower Drum Song, High Spirits (1964), Henry, Sweet Henry (1967), George M! (1968) and Oh, Kay!.
His film credits include the role of Dancing Sailor in New York, New York (1977) and Assistant Choreographer on The Goodbye Girl (1977). He also appeared as a Party Guest and worked as choreographer on Kiss Me Goodbye (1982). Castle has choreographed stage productions, television specials and cruise-ship shows, and directed and choreographed the San Jose Civic Light Opera production of On the Town, for which he received awards for direction, choreography and best musical.
