Biography
Gene Gutowski, born Witold Bardach, was a Polish-American film producer. He produced three of Roman Polanski's early English-language features: Repulsion (1965), Cul-de-sac (1966) and The Fearless Vampire Killers (1967). He later served as co-producer on Polanski's The Pianist (2002).
After the Second World War, Gutowski worked in the United States, including as a production supervisor on the television series I Spy. He moved to London in 1960 and produced Station Six-Sahara (1962) before forming a partnership with Polanski. He also staged several plays and wrote memoirs.
