Biography
Genevieve Hegney is an Australian actor. She graduated from the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in 1999 with a degree in performing arts (acting), after earlier studies in politics and literature at the University of Western Australia.
She is known for her role as Chiara in the series Colin from Accounts (2022–), Sonya in The Little Death (2014), Tanya Segelov in Devil's Dust (2012), Paula Kunde in Pieces of Her (2022), and Diane Ariti in Young Rock (2021). Other credits include Upright (2019) and Burning Man (2011). Hegney has a background in Shakespearean theatre, including a decade with the Bell Shakespeare Company, and has also written and co-created stage and screen work such as the play Fly Girl and the comedy Unqualified.
She is married to director Matthew Moore. Hegney has received Equity Ensemble Awards for her work in Colin from Accounts and an AACTA Award nomination for best acting in a comedy.
