Biography
Geoffrey Perkins was a British comedy producer, writer and performer. He produced the first two radio series of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and co-created the series Radio Active, later adapted for television as KYTV.
Perkins worked at Hat Trick Productions, where he produced Father Ted (1995) and other series including Drop the Dead Donkey. He served as Head of Comedy at BBC Television from 1995 to 2001, overseeing programmes such as The Fast Show and The Thin Blue Line. Later, at Tiger Aspect, his credits included The Catherine Tate Show, My Family and Benidorm (2007). He received a BAFTA for Father Ted and a posthumous Outstanding Contribution to Comedy Award.
