Biography
Georg Skarstedt was a Swedish actor. Born Per Georg Wilhelm Skarstedt in Falun, he made his film debut in Ivan Hedqvist's Carolina Rediviva (1920) and appeared in more than 120 films and television productions between 1920 and 1969.
He is known for supporting roles in several Ingmar Bergman films, including To Joy (1950), Summer with Monika (1953) as Harry's father, A Lesson in Love (1954), The Seventh Seal (1957) and Shame (1968). Skarstedt also worked extensively in Swedish theatre.
In 1961 he married the actress Viveka Linder; the marriage lasted until her death in 1968.
