Biography
George Givot (also credited as George David Givot) was a Russian-born American comedian and actor. He appeared in vaudeville, on Broadway, in films, on radio and in television from the 1930s to the 1960s, often performing in comedic ethnic dialects, notably as the "Greek Ambassador of Good Will".
His film roles included Neb Jolla in Road to Morocco (1942). He is best known for voicing the Italian restaurateur Tony in the Disney animated film Lady and the Tramp (1955), in which he performed the song "Bella Notte".
Givot was born on 18 February 1903 in Ekaterinoslav (now Dnipro, Ukraine), then part of the Russian Empire, and died on 7 June 1984 in Palm Springs, California.
