Biography
George Litto (9 December 1930 – 29 April 2019) was an American film producer and talent agent. A native of Philadelphia, he attended Temple University and began his career at the William Morris Agency in New York before founding his own agency in 1965.
As an agent he represented writers and directors including Robert Altman, Dalton Trumbo and Waldo Salt, and packaged several Altman films. He later moved into producing, with credits including Altman's Thieves Like Us (1974), Jonathan Kaplan's Over the Edge (1979), and three Brian De Palma films: Obsession (1976), Dressed to Kill (1980) and Blow Out (1981). He also served as executive producer on Drive-In (1976) and The Crew (2000), and produced Kansas (1988) and Night Game (1989).
While producing Blow Out, Litto became chairman of Filmways and oversaw its restructuring before its acquisition by Orion Pictures. He died in Los Angeles in 2019.
