Biography
George M. Cohan was an American actor, composer, playwright, producer and performer. He wrote, composed, produced and appeared in more than three dozen Broadway musicals beginning with Little Johnny Jones in 1904.
Cohan published more than 300 songs, including the standards "Give My Regards to Broadway", "The Yankee Doodle Boy", "You're a Grand Old Flag" and "Over There". He is credited with stock music on the 1933 film Sons of the Desert.
Born in Providence, Rhode Island, he died in New York on 5 November 1942.
