Biography
George Relph (27 January 1888 – 24 April 1960) was an English actor. He appeared in more than a dozen films and many stage productions, including numerous Shakespearean roles.
Relph made his London debut in Hamlet in 1909. He served in the British Army during the First World War and was wounded in the leg. His son, Michael Relph, became a film producer. He was appointed CBE for services to drama.
His film roles include the Vicar Sam Weech in The Titfield Thunderbolt (1953) and his final screen appearance as Tiberius Caesar in Ben-Hur (1959), released five months before his death in London.
