Biography
Georgie Stoll (born George Martin Stoll) was an American musical director, conductor, composer and jazz violinist. He joined the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer music department in 1937 and worked on numerous films there until the mid-1960s.
Stoll served as musical director or composer on Babes in Arms (1939), Go West (1940), The Big Store (1941), Cabin in the Sky (1943), Meet Me in St. Louis (1944), Anchors Aweigh (1945), In the Good Old Summertime (1949), Father's Little Dividend (1951), Love Me or Leave Me (1955) and Viva Las Vegas (1964). He won the Academy Award for Best Scoring of a Musical Picture for Anchors Aweigh.
