Biography
Georgia Jeffries is a television writer and producer. After graduating from UCLA cum laude, she worked as a journalist for American Film magazine before joining the groundbreaking series Cagney & Lacey (1982) as a story editor and writer. She became the first individual woman to win a Writers Guild Award for Episodic Drama for her work on the show.
Jeffries later served as supervising producer on the Peabody Award-winning series China Beach (1988) and wrote episodes of Sisters (1991) and New York News (1995). She has received multiple Emmy nominations and other awards for her television work. Appointed to the faculty of the USC School of Cinematic Arts, she created the first undergraduate screenwriting thesis programme at an American university. She has also written novels, including The Younger Girl.
