Biography
Gerald Faitala Ramsey is an American actor. He is best known for playing Mufasa in the North American touring production of The Lion King for nearly a decade until September 2024, and for his voice role as Tautai Vasa in the animated film Moana 2 (2024).
Born in Tacoma, Washington, Ramsey was raised in Aunu’u, American Samoa, and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He is a graduate of the University of Hawaii at Hilo. His other stage credits include My Name Is Gary Cooper at Kumu Kahua Theatre and productions at the Polynesian Cultural Center.
