Biography
Gerald Thompson is an Australian cinematographer and motion control specialist, primarily known for his work in stop-motion animation. He served as director of photography on the feature films Mary and Max (2009) and Memoir of a Snail (2024), both directed by Adam Elliot.
Thompson has also contributed to short films including Lost & Found (2018) and The Story of Percival Pilts (2015). Earlier in his career he worked in camera and electrical departments on productions such as the first two Lord of the Rings films and King Kong (2005).
