Biography
Gerd Vespermann (24 July 1926 – 25 November 2000) was a German stage, film, television and voice actor. He was born in Berlin, the son of actors Kurt Vespermann and Lia Eibenschütz. He studied piano at the Musikhochschule Weimar from 1941 to 1944 and acting from 1946 to 1947, then began his career on stage in Gardelegen and Burgstädt before appearing at Berlin theatres including the Hebbel-Theater from 1954.
Vespermann appeared in over 40 films from 1953, often in supporting roles. These included The Devil's General (1955) as Theaterregisseur Rösler and Cabaret (1972) as Bobby. He also worked as a television presenter on programmes such as Nightclub and Bistro, and as a voice actor, including the German dubbing voice of Bugs Bunny. He was married to actress Hannelore Elsner from 1964 to 1966.
