Biography
Gertrud Fridh (1921–1984) was a Swedish stage and film actress. Born in Gothenburg, she trained at the Gothenburg City Theatre's acting school from 1941 to 1944 and began her career in the city's theatres before moving to Malmö and later Stockholm.
She is best known for her collaborations with Ingmar Bergman, appearing in Wild Strawberries (1957) as Karin, Isak's wife, as well as The Magician (1958), The Devil's Eye (1960), All These Women (1964) and Hour of the Wolf (1968). From the mid-1950s she was a member of the ensemble at the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm, where she played notable stage roles including Hedda Gabler in a 1964 Bergman production.
