Biography
Gertrude Flynn (14 January 1909 – 16 October 1996) was an American stage, film and television actress. Born in New York, she began her career on Broadway in the 1930s, appearing in productions including One Good Year (1935) and The Grass Harp (1952). She later worked extensively in film and television from the mid-1950s onwards.
Her film roles included Lulu McGee in The Barefoot Contessa (1954), Mariya Peronskaya in War and Peace (1956), Mrs. Starkey in Blackbeard's Ghost (1968) and Mrs. O'Malley in Funny Girl (1968). On television she made guest appearances in series such as The Twilight Zone (as Rose Kramer, 1961), Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Perry Mason and Charlie's Angels. She was married to playwright Asa Bordages.
