Biography
Gherardo Gherardi (1891–1949) was an Italian screenwriter and playwright. Born in Granaglione, he began his career as a journalist and theatre critic before founding the Experimental Theatre of Bologna in 1921 and writing numerous plays, often in dialect.
He moved to Rome in 1935 and worked prolifically as a screenwriter from the mid-1930s onwards. His credits include The Children Are Watching Us (1943) and co-writing the screenplay for Vittorio De Sica’s Bicycle Thieves (1948).
