Biography

Gila Almagor is an Israeli actress and author. Born on 22 July 1939, she trained at the Habima Theatre drama school in Tel Aviv and later studied acting in New York at the Actors Studio and HB Studio.

She has appeared in dozens of Israeli films and stage productions, as well as international work. Her credits include Every Time We Say Goodbye (1986) and Munich (2005), in which she played Avner's Mother. Almagor wrote the autobiographical novels The Summer of Aviya and Under the Domim Tree, both of which were adapted into films in which she also appeared.

She was married to theatre director Yaakov Agmon until his death in 2020.
