Biography
Gillian Bevan is an English actress born on 13 February 1956 in Stockport, Cheshire. She trained with Manchester Youth Theatre after being inspired by her school teachers and has worked extensively in British television and theatre.
She is known for playing headteacher Clare Hunter in the Channel 4 series Teachers (2001–2004) and Dr Lin Pascoe in the BBC drama Ghostwatch (1992). Other television credits include Holby City, Father Brown, Lewis, Foyle's War and Shakespeare & Hathaway - Private Investigators.
Bevan has a substantial stage career, notably playing Dorothy in the Royal Shakespeare Company revival of The Wizard of Oz (1988) and the title role in the RSC production of Cymbeline (2016). She has also appeared in musicals including Sweeney Todd and Into the Woods.
