Biography
Gilman Rankin (17 April 1911 – 31 October 1993) was an American film and television actor. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, he began his screen career in 1949 with uncredited roles in films including Bride of Vengeance and The Story of Seabiscuit.
He appeared in numerous Western television series, notably as Deputy Charlie Riggs in the first season of Tombstone Territory (1957). Rankin guest-starred in programmes such as Gunsmoke, Perry Mason, The Untouchables and The Waltons, and played supporting parts in films including Midnight Cowboy (1969, as Woodsy Niles), Black Patch (1957) and Assault on Precinct 13 (1976, as Bus Driver). He retired from acting in 1976.
