Biography

Gitti Fuchs is a German costume designer, also credited as Brigitte Fuchs. She was born in Kempten and studied fashion design in Berlin after a language stay in England. She began working as a freelance costume designer in the 1990s, initially also in theatre, before focusing exclusively on film and television from 1997.

She has collaborated extensively with director Maren Ade on The Forest for the Trees (2003), Everyone Else (2009) and Toni Erdmann (2016). Other credits include Exile (2020) and Someday We'll Tell Each Other Everything (2023). Fuchs is a member of the Deutsche Filmakademie and lives in Berlin. One of her costumes from Toni Erdmann, a large Kukeri mask and suit, is held in the permanent collection of the Deutsche Kinemathek.
