Biography
Giuliano Gemma (2 September 1938 – 1 October 2013) was an Italian actor. He began his career as a stuntman before taking acting roles, with his first major part coming in Duccio Tessari's Arrivano i titani (1962). He appeared as Garibaldi's General in Luchino Visconti's The Leopard (1963).
Gemma became known for his work in Spaghetti Westerns, often credited as Montgomery Wood, including the title role in A Pistol for Ringo (1965) and its sequel The Return of Ringo (1965), as well as Day of Anger (1967). He later appeared in films such as The Desert of the Tartars (1976), for which he won a David di Donatello, and Tenebre (1982). His daughter Vera Gemma is also an actress.
