Biography
Giuseppe Cederna is an Italian actor and author. Born in Rome in 1957, he is the son of journalist and politician Antonio Cederna and nephew of writer Camilla Cederna. From an early interest in mime and clowning, he founded the company Anfeclown in 1977 and later collaborated with director Gabriele Salvatores on stage and in film.
Cederna began his screen career with a minor role in Marco Bellocchio’s Slap the Monster on Page One (1972) and became a character actor in the 1980s. He is known for roles including Paolino in Marrakech Express (1989), Antonio Farina in the Academy Award-winning Mediterraneo (1991), Fausto in Nine (2009), and Pope Pius XII in Nuremberg (2025). He has also appeared in Hammamet (2020) and written books, including one on the Ticino river.
